2019 Triumph Speed Twin Launched In India At Rs 9.46 lakh

British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph has launched the Speed Twin in India. The 2019 Triumph Speed Twin is priced at Rs 9.46 lakh ex-showroom (India). Triumph calls the new Speed Twin roadster, the reincarnation of the 1938 Speed Twin 5T, which featured the world's first successful parallel twin engine.

The Triumph Speed Twin is powered by a liquid cooled, 1,200cc parallel twin engine from the Thruxton, which has been updated for the new motorcycle. The Speed Twin's version of the parallel twin engine features a new magnesium cam cover, mass optimised engine covers and revised clutch asembly. These changes result in weight savings of 2.5 kilogrammes when compared to the Thruxton's powerplant.

The 2019 Triumph Speed Twin's engine cranks out 95.6bhp at 6,750rpm and 112Nm of peak torque at 4,950rpm. The new Triumph Speed Twin produces 49 per cent more power and 40 per cent more torque than the 2018 model. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The 2019 Speed Twin from Triumph features a new frame that is based on the found on the Thruxton R. The suspension setup on the Speed Twin features 41mm Kayba catridge shocks up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear that feature pre-load adjustment.

To bring the powerful new Speed Twin to a stop, Triumph has fitted the modern classic bike with twin 305mm disc brake with four-piston axial callipers up front. The rear wheel is stopped by a 220mm disc brake at the rear which features two floating callipers from Nissin. The 2019 Speed Twin sits on 17-inch alloy wheels that are fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres. The Triumph Speed Twin features ABS and traction control as standard equipment and the bike features three riding modes: Rain, Road and Sport.
