Triumph Scrambler 1200 Coming Soon — Launch Imminent!

A lot of folks are excited and there's some talk about Triumph launching a Scrambler 1200. The Triumph India website features a silhouette of a Triumph Scrambler 1200 with the words "coming soon'. Rumor has it that this the Triumph Scrambler 1200 might launch on 24 April 2019, along with the Triumph Speed Twin.

There are two variants of the Triumph Scrambler 1200 available in international markets. There's the base model called the XC, and the top-of-the-range called the XE. Both machines are designed of style, on road capability, adventure, and for all-out scrambling! The Scrambler XE delivers remarkable performance both on and off road, and the XE variant is built for more extreme off-road challenges. Both variants feature wire cross-spoke wheels and tubeless tyres.

Both variants also feature a liquid-cooled, 8-valve, parallel-twin engine. The engine draws 89Hp of power @ 7,400rpm, and 110Nm of torque @ 3,950rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The front features a 36-spoke, 21-inch aluminum wheel, and twin 320mm Brembo disc brakes. The rear features a 32-spoke, 17-inch aluminum wheel, with a single 255mm Brembo disc brake.

Suspension in the front is handled by 45mm Showa, fully adjustable upside down forks, and at the rear by fully adjustable Ohlin twins. Both front and rear offer 200mm of travel. The instrument cluster is multi-functional and features a digital speedometer and tachometer, a trip commuter, fuel and gear indicators, a service indicator, and rider modes-rain, road, sport, off-road, and rider customized.

We hear Triumph may offer optional extras for their Scrambler line, and these include, Bluetooth connectivity, Bluetooth integrated GoPro control system, 'turn-by-turn' navigation systems, phone and music controls, heated grips, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

The current Triumph Scrambler available in India features a liquid-cooled 900cc parallel twin engine. The engine draws 64.1BHP of power @ 7,000rpm, and 80Nm of torque @ 3,200rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Scrambler 900 is available in Korosi Red Frozen Silver, Matt Khaki Green, and Jet Black. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 8.60 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

What We Think Of The Triumph Scrambler 1200

Well, we're not surprised really. Most manufacturers are giving the masses bigger and faster motorcycles with every season. Hopefully Triumph will price these machines under the Rs 12 lakh mark.
