Top-Selling Scooters In India For September 2019: Honda Activa Continues To Maintain Lead In Segment
Top-Selling scooters in India for September 2019. The list of the top-10 best-selling scooters in the Indian market for the month of September 2019 has been released. The best-selling scooter list showcases the Honda Activa continue to maintain its lead in the segment. The TVS Jupiter and the Suzuki Access 125 are placed below, with no sign of Hero MotoCorp in the top-five.
The Honda Activa is one of the most popular scooters in the Indian market. The scooter has been in India for quite a while now, having undergone a host of changes over the years. The company also recently introduced the Activa 125 Fi, which is the country's first BS-VI compliant scooter as well — here are the details.
Currently, in its fifth-generation, the Honda Activa has registered sales of 248,939 units of sales in the month of September 2019. This is a drop of 12.6% from the sales it registered last year, which stood at 284,809 units.
The TVS Jupiter comes in second place. However, it is a long way back from the Honda Activa with 69,049 units of registered sales in the previous month. The scooter has declined in sales compared to September 2018 by 23.87% when it registered 90,699 units.
The Suzuki Access 125 comes in the third position, with 50,162 units of sales in the previous month. The Access 125 is the most popular scooter in the Indian 125cc segment. The Suzuki Access 125 registered a growth of 6.88% from September 2018, with sales of 46,931 units.
The Honda Dio is yet another popular offering from the brand in the Indian market. Offered with sharp styling and sporty looks, the Dio is popular among young buyers in the Indian market.
The Honda Dio in the month of September 2019 registered 38,752 units of sales to occupy fourth place on the list. This is, however, a decline of 12.37% from September 2018 when it registered higher 44,397 units of sales.
The top-five position is completed by the TVS Ntorq 125. The scooter is starting to rapidly become a popular scooter offering in the 125cc segment among young buyers.
The Ntorq 125 offers a host of features, including a number of segment-first and best-in-class equipment. The TVS Ntorq 125 in September 2019 registered 27,814 units of sales' a 33.6% growth from last year when it registered 20,820 units.

Moving to the bottom-five on the list, it is made up of the Hero Pleasure and Hero Maestro in sixth and seventh position. The two products from Hero MotoCorp are the only offerings from the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer in the list, apart from the Destini in the last place.
The Hero Pleasure and Hero Maestro registered 20,425 units and 14,191 units of sales in September 2019, respectively. This is a 23.21% improvement in sales for the Hero Pleasure which registered 16,578 units last year. However, the sales of the Hero Maestro have dropped significantly by over 62% from 37,367 units in September 2018.
The bottom three on the top-10 scooter list is made up of the Yamaha Fascino, Yamaha Ray and Hero Destini. The three scooters registered 13,124 units, 10,208 units and 9,982 units of sales in the last month, respectively.

The list of top-selling scooters in India for September 2019 showcases the Honda Activa continues to dominate the segment in the market. The company is now said to be working on the next-generation model, which is expected to be unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. This might further improve the sales of the scooter.
