Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 Customized To Look Like A Norton Commando Cafe Racer
Every generation has it's retro loyalists, and the current generation is no exception. In fact retro is like and adored so much that manufactures keep introducing retro-styled motorcycles every so often. It is a recipe that works, and work well. The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, and the Continental GT 6+50 are examples of such machines.
However, there are people who like to add a little bit more to these motorcycles, personalizing them if you will. A custom builder called OK Easy Shop has done just that with the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, and the motorcycle they have customized looks exactly like a Norton.
The Interceptor 650 is a great motorcycle to customize, because the motorcycle has been built that way. The machine is pretty much just a handlebar, a tank, and a seat, with the rest of the motorcycle being working components.
The machine in question reminds us of the Norton Commando Cafe Racer, with all it's chrome, the carved in metal rear cowl, the proportions, the extended mounting points for the classic headlight, the saddle's quilted pattern, and the Union Jack cover for the radiator.
OK Easy Shop has made very little changes outside of that. The standard forks feature gaiters, the stock gas-charged rear springs have been replaced with aftermarket coils, the exhaust system is different, and there are larger, sportier tyres at both ends.
The custom motorcycle features a straight pipe handlebar that curves upwards very slightly at the ends, and the motorcycle also features aftermarket levers. The rest of the Interceptor appears to be stock.
There are no modifications made to the engine of the motorcycles and it still features the stock 648cc parallel twin engine that produces 47bhp of power and 52Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
However, if one feels the need to add more power values to the stock motorcycle, the new ECU built by PowerTRONIC is the way to go. The aftermarket ECU retails at Rs 22,000, and adds between 3bhp and 5bhp to stock power values. The ECU also adds 3Nm of torque to the stock value of 52Nm. Thoughts About The Interceptor 650 That Looks Like A Norton
We've come across many people who customize their motorcycle to look like a different one that is available in the market. While most of the work we see are below par, this one by OK Easy Shop is quite good. The motorcycle does look like a Norton at first glance. We hope the owner is happy with it. Also we're wondering if he could have just bought a Norton for the price of the Royal Enfield and the custom job that he got done. Who knows!
