Royal Enfield Hunter: Company Files Trademark Application

Chennai based motorcycle manufacturer, Royal Enfield, has filed a Trademark application for the Royal Enfield Hunter. According to IndianAutosBlog, no details about the motorcycle are known just yet, however the name suggests that the Hunter could be an off-road bias motorcycle.

Should the Royal Enfield Hunter be an off-road bias or an adventure style motorcycle, it will be the company's second adventure style offering after the Himalayan.

While it is way to early to say anything about the Royal Enfield Hunter, the motorcycle will likely feature a conventional suspension set up at the front, and a mono-shock at the rear (or not).

The motorcycle is expected to feature disc brakes at both ends, as well as dual-channel ABS, among other design and colour scheme changes.

Again, there is no information about the engine this motorcycle will feature, but we think it could be a new one altogether. There is uncertainty about a 350cc making it as an adventure styled machine, and rumor has it that it could be a 250cc engine that makes its debut.

There are other rumors that the Hunter could feature a higher displacement engine, but again, its all speculation at this point. What we're certain of is that a Trademark application has been filed, and that the motorcycle will feature a BS6 compliant engine.

We're also certain that Royal Enfield will do everything they can to keep prices of the Hunter extremely competitive - something they did with the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT650.

In related news, Royal Enfield is working on a new range of motorcycles that will be lighter than any existing models, and will be launched with the idea of targeting first-time buyers and women riders.

General Trivia About The Explorer Name

Royal Enfield built and sold a motorcycle called the Explorer during the 1980s. The motorcycle was built in collaboration with German motorcycle manufacturer Zundapp.

The Explorer was powered by 49cc two-stroke engine that was mated to a three-speed gearbox. The motorcycle was light, and offered 65 kilometers to a litre when riding within a city.
