Revolt e-Bike Features Multiple Switchable Exhaust Sounds; Unveiling Tomorrow
Revolt Motors has revealed that its upcoming e-bike will be equipped with an exhaust note. This in itself makes it the first of its kind on an electric bike. Revolt has made it more complex by featuring a changing exhaust sound with sounds ranging from that of a single-cylinder engine to a four-cylinder sports bike engine.
Green mobility and electric vehicles have taken off in a big way and there is absolutely no stopping this growth now. The future is electric and the future is now. However, there are a few problems that are stopping people from adopting electric vehicles and one of them is the sound (or the lack of it).
For motorcyclists, sound plays an important role. Research has proven that sounds emanating from the engine plays a huge role in keeping the driver or rider alert and it is this very sound that is missing. For biking enthusiasts though, this sound plays a much larger role.
The sound of an engine revving high and while the rider shifts through those gears makes up an emotion that seldom can be explained — the joy of biking. It is this very emotion that an electric bike fails to provide and it has been keeping bikers away from electric bikes for a while now.
Revolt plans to change just that with its new e-bike that is set to be launched on 18 June, 2019. Revolt has released a video that shows its upcoming motorcycle switching between exhaust sounds at the touch of a screen.
Not only does the video show that the bike will come with a switchable exhaust but it also shows that the motorcycle will come with a smartphone app that will control its functions. The smartphone screen shows two more exhaust notes that are at the moment, under wraps.
Could it be a V-Twin engine? Or a parallel-twin? We would know once it is launched tomorrow. The Revolt e-bike will be India's first connected motorcycle with artificial intelligence and a 4G e-SIM to keep the motorcycle connected to a cloud server. It comes with a smartphone app that controls various motorcycle functions and tracks data.
Revolt claims a top speed of 85km/h and an ARAi-certified range of 156 kilometres. The battery management system and ECU have been developed by Revolt and will be made in India. The swappable battery and electric on the other hand are imported.
The bike boasts of all the features a modern sports bike would have, including USD fork up front, monoshock at the rear, LED lighting, and a sleek and slender design.
Thoughts On Revolt e-Bike Featuring Multiple Exhaust Sounds
This is not a feature that will change the way the motorcycle performs. It will still be a motorcycle than can do just 85km/h. However, the rider can now have more fun on it thanks to switchable exhaust sounds.
