Spy Pics: Peugeot Pulsion Maxi-Scooter Spotted Testing In India
The Peugeot Pulsion maxi-scooter has been spotted testing in India. This is the first time the Pulsion has been spotted in the country. Spy pics taken by AutoCar India reveal a test model sans camouflage, parked a covered lot in Pune.
The spy pics reveal that the Peugeot Pulsion features an LED projector headlight, the company's logo at the front, and Michelin tyres (with different tread patterns as compared to the international-spec models).
The Pulsion is already available in International markets, and the scooters feature an analogue speedometer and a reverse rev-counter that are remarkably close to the ones featured on Peugeot's 308 four-wheeler model. Other features include claw mark-like tail-lights.
The international-spec Pulsion also features Peugeot's connected vehicle system - i-Connect, a TFT colour display, and app-based connectivity. The application uses GPS and navigation data to take traffic conditions in to account while helping navigate.
The app also displays calls, messages and other social media notifications on the TFT screen. In addition, the Pulsion's hazard lights can be triggered via the key fob to help find it easily.
The international-spec Pulsion features a 12-litre fuel tank, and under-seat storage to fit a full-face helmet. Spy pics also reveal what appear to be a fuel cap located on the foot board.
The Peugeot Pulsion is currently manufactured at the company's Mandeure plant in France, and is available in three variants - the Allure, the Active, and the RS. All variants feature a 125cc, single-cylinder fuel-injected engine that produces 14.6bhp of power and 11.9Nm of torque.
While there is no information about an India launch, we expect the Peugeot Pulsion to be launched some time next year, and expect to see the scooter at the Delhi Auto Expo 2020.
In related news, Mahindra Two Wheelers Europe acquired Peugeot Motocycles earlier this year. Mahindra had acquired a 51 per cent stake in the company during 2015 with the intention of entering the European markets. To read more, click here.
Thoughts About The Peugeot Pulsion
We think the Pulsion maxi-scooter looks fantastic, like most maxi-scooters do. What remains to be seen however is if the Indian market will get the international-spec scooter. That would give the Pulsion an edge over competition and will get the ball rolling for Peugeot Motocycles India.
