Honda CB Shine BS-VI Engine Specs Leaked: India Launch Expected This Year

Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Honda, is all set to introduce another BS-VI products in the India market. This time it could be the company's first BS-VI compliant motorcycle in India.

With the BS-VI deadline nearing all the auto manufacturer will be getting their models certified by statutory bodies. This process has led to a leaked document by IAB revealing details of the upcoming Honda CB Shine BS-VI model.

As seen from the document the Honda will carry forward the same 125cc engine featured on the current model to make it BS-VI complaint. The BS-VI Honda CB Shine will produce 10.72bhp of power, there is a 0.7bhp of increase in power as compared to the current model. The new engine will continue to come mated to a five-speed gearbox.

The BS-VI model of the motorcycle will also feature an On Board Diagnostics I (OBD-I) and is expected to feature a fuel-injection system, as well. The document also reveals a change in the dimension of the upcoming motorcycle. The BS-VI Honda CB Shine is longer by 8mm, wider by 23mm and taller by 13mm with an increased wheelbase of 19mm.

The BS-VI model of the Honda CB Shine is also expected to be slightly heavier with added components and revised dimensions. According to the document, Honda will be offering the CB Shine SP in three variants: a Standard variant with front and rear drum brakes, a Deluxe variant with drum brakes at both ends and a Deluxe with front disc and rear drum brake setup.

Apart from this the motorcycle is expected to remain unchanged mechanically. The suspension duties on the current motorcycle is handled by a telescopic unit at the front and a twin hydraulic setup at the rear. The bike also features 18 inch alloy wheels at both ends, part digital and part analogue instrument cluster and Honda's combined braking system for enhanced safety.

In other news, Honda will also be introducing new mid-capacity motorcycles in the Indian market to compete with Royal Enfield. The new models will be sold at the Honda's big wing dealer network across the country — here are all the details.

Thoughts About The Honda CB Shine BS-VI Model

While all the BS-VI models seems to have the same or a slight decrease in power, Honda has managed to increase the power marginally by 0.7bhp. The company will look to launch the BS-VI motorcycle soon, to tackle the current auto slow down in the country. Honda has also confirmed that they won't be participating at the Auto Expo next year as well.
