Mahindra Mojo 300 ABS Reaching Dealers — Book Yours For Rs 5,000

Mahindra has quietly been upgrading it's flagship motorcycle, the Mojo 300. There were images doing the rounds of the Internet recently, and we now have confirmation from a few dealers that the new, upgraded versions are making their way to dealerships.

A Pune based dealer said that they were expecting the first lot of the all-new Mahindra Mojo 300 on the 28th of July, and that they have started taking bookings at Rs 5,000. However, they did not comment about if the bookings were official. They also said prices would be revealed on the 28th.

The upgraded Mojo 300 features a number of changes. The inverted front forks have now been replaced with telescopic units that feature a front fork brace. The new model features a single-sided exhaust that is angled a bit higher.

Braking duties are handled by a 320mm Bybre disc at the front, and a 240mm Bybre disc brake at the rear. The brake set up now features dual-channel ABS as a standard. Unlike the out-going models, the new Mahindra Mojo 300 will be available only with a fuel-injected motor. Also Mahindra is offering Pirelli Angel CT tyres on the motorcycle.

Mahindra has paid a lot of attention toward costs for the new motorcycle. Missing upside-down forks and the dual exhausts shows that the company has done enough cost-cutting. It appears as though Mahindra will be able to price the motorcycle very competitively in a cut-throat segment currently dominated by KTM and Bajaj Auto.

We often hear owners of the Mahindra Mojo 300 swearing by it, and they say they would never look at any other motorcycle in the segment. Mahindra seems to have done a fantastic job with the upgrades, so much so that they have only one variant of the motorcycle going forward. Customers had the option of the XT and UT variants earlier.

As always, pricing is what matters the most in the 300 segment that is full of options and competition. While there is no information about pricing just yet, we expect the all-new Mahindra Mojo 300 to be priced at under the Rs 2 lakh mark (ex-showroom, India). The all-new Mahindra Mojo 300 is expected to launch in less that one month.

Thoughts About The New Mahindra Mojo Arriving At Dealerships

We think pricing was never a problem for the Mojo 300. It was marketing and visibility. While we knew the product was great, we never saw too much in terms of advertising. And every one knows, out of sight is out of mind. We think it will be different this time and that Mahindra will pulls out all stops. Also, we hope the Mojo does better in round two. Stay tuned for more updates.
