KTM 125 Duke & RC Sales In India: Boost KTM Sales To 50,000 Units In 10 Months

KTM India sales have registered over 50,000 units in the past 10 months. The sales of KTM in India has received a major boost in the Indian market, since the launch of the 125 Duke back in November 2018.

The KTM 125 Duke and RC models are now the best-selling motorcycles from the Austrian manufacturer in the Indian market. The KTM 125 twins (Duke and RC) together have registered a total of 22,374 units in the past 10 months. This alone accounts for over 44% of the total sales of KTM during the same period.

The KTM Duke 125 was launched in India back in November 2018, while the faired 125 RC model went on sale recently in June 2019. The KTM Duke 125 is currently priced at Rs 1.32 lakh while the RC 125 comes priced at Rs 1.48 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi).

Both motorcycles are powered by the same 124cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. It produces 14.5bhp at 9,250rpm and 12Nm of peak torque at 8,000rpm. It is mated to a standard six-speed gearbox.

Both motorcycles carry forward the same design and styling from its larger sibling the KTM Duke 200 and RC 200. Talking about the 200cc motorcycle offering from KTM, the Duke and RC 200 follow the 125-twins closely in sales, registering 19,372 units during the same 10 month period. The KTM Duke 200 and the RC 200 were the first models to be introduced in the Indian market.

The KTM Duke 250 is third-in-line in terms of sales. The motorcycle registered 4,815 units in the past 10 months. The current flagship offerings, the KTM Duke 390 and RC 390 during the same period have registered 3,396 units during the same 10-month period.

KTM is currently preparing themselves for the launch of their new 790 Duke in the Indian market. The KTM Duke 790 is scheduled to go on sale in India on the 23rd of September and will rival the likes of the Suzuki GZS-S750 and the Triumph Street Triple in the Indian market. Once launched, the KTM Duke 790 is expected to be priced around Rs 8 lakh, ex-showroom.
