KTM Commences Deliveries Of The RC125 — Rivals The Yamaha R15
KTM India recently launched the faired version of their popular Duke 125 offering, the RC125. Now, a few days after its official launch deliveries of the 125cc faired motorcycle have begun across India.
The KTM RC125 is the smallest capacity faired motorcycle in the Indian market and is available with a starting price of Rs 1.47 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi). The 125cc motorcycle is available in two colour options: Orange/Black and Orange/White.
THe RC125 is powered by the same 124cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine as on its Duke sibling. It produces 14.5bhp and 12Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox; with a slipper clutch as standard..
The KTM RC125 comes with 43mm upside-down inverted forks up front and a monoshock suspension set up at the rear; both sourced from WP. Braking is handled by discs at both ends, however, the RC125 comes with a single-channel ABS system with the rear brakes receiving the RLP (Rear Lift-Off Protection) technology.
Design-wise, the KTM RC125 borrows the same looks as its larger siblings, the RC200 and the RC390 in the Indian market. It also receives a similar feature-list, this includes clip-on handlebars, split seats, dual-projector headlamps, fully-digital instrument cluster and unique body graphics.
The KTM Duke 125 is currently the best-selling model from the Austrian brand in the Indian market. The Duke 125 currently sells more number of units than all its siblings combined. KTM hopes that the RC125 model too will receive the same response from the market. The RC125 is almost Rs 17,000 more than its Duke sibling, priced at Rs 1.30 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
Thoughts On The KTM RC125 Deliveries In The Indian Market
KTM is dominating the sales in the Indian sub-200cc motorcycle segment. The KTM Duke 200/RC200 and the Duke 125 are among the highest-selling models in the segment. The addition of the RC125 to the list, will only help improve the sales even further. Although in the 125cc segment, the Duke and RC125 rival the likes of the Yamaha R15 and the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 in terms of both pricing and performance.
