KTM Duke 790 Registers 41 Units Of Sales Within First 10 Days Of Launch
Austrian two-wheeler manufacturer KTM, has already managed to sell 41 units of their 790 Duke model. The company had imported 100 units of the 790 Duke naked motorcycle to the country.
KTM had launched the 790 Duke in India on September 23 at Rs 8.64 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The naked motorcycles have been brought to Indian shores through CKD (Completely Knocked Down) and assembled at Bajaj's plant.
The Duke 790 rivals the likes of the Suzuki GSX-S750, Ducati Monster 797, Triumph Street Triple, Yamaha MT-09 and the Kawasaki Z900 in the Indian market. The KTM 790 has been priced significantly higher than its rivals, however, the company with its large customer base in India has managed to sell 41 units within 10 days.
The naked motorcycle is available in only nine cities across the country which include Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Surat, Guwahati, and Chennai. The company plans to make the motorcycle available to over 30 cities by April 2020.
The KTM Duke 790 is powered by a 799cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 104bhp and 87Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a standard six-speed transmission. With a dry weight of 169kg, the Duke 790 is one of the lightest bikes in its class, second only to the Triumph Street Triple S.
The Duke 790's suspension duties are handled by a 43mm upside-down forks at the front and a fully-adjustable mono-shock at the rear. Braking is handled by dual 300mm discs at the front and a single 240mm disc at the rear.
The electronics on the bikes will enable the rider to switch between four riding modes: Rain, Streets, Sports and Track. The KTM Duke 790 also features traction control system, ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System), lean angle sensitivity, motor slip regulation, stability control, slipper clutch and a quickshifter for clutchless upshifts and downshifts.
The KTM Duke 790 features a fully-digital TFT instrument display offering a host of information to the rider, and LED lighting all around. The company is also offering the customers to upgrade their motorcycle with the ‘KTM Powerparts', which includes a module to enable Bluetooth connectivity on the 790 Duke — here are all the details.
In other news, KTM is gearing up to launch the most anticipated 390 Adventure motorcycle in India. The company is also upgrading its showrooms in India to accommodate premium models to offer a better customer experience.
Thoughts About The KTM 790 Duke Selling 41 Units In India
The 790 Duke with a hefty price tag has still managed to sell in numbers, this just shows the trust the customer share with the brand in the country. The motorcycle comes packed with features and a host of driver-aids. The 790 Duke is sure to make the rider more confident with electronic assistance on offer.
