KTM 390 Adventure has finally been unveiled at EICMA 2019. The KTM 390 Adventure has been one of the most-awaited motorcycles in the market, with the motorcycle being spotted testing on multiple occasions both globally as well as in India.

KTM has finally taken the wraps off the 390 Adventure, which is set to go on sale in India soon. The KTM 390 Adventure is an off-road version of the 390 Duke and is expected to launch in India in December, during IBW 2019 (India Bike Week).

The KTM 390 Adventure will use the same engine which powers the 390 Duke and RC models. This includes a 373.2cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. It produces 44bbhp at 9000rpm and 37Nm of torque at 7000rpm; mated to the same six-speed transmission.

However, KTM is yet to confirm if the 390 Adventure will feature an updated BS-VI compliant engine or not. If the KTM 390 Adventure does come with the updated engine, it will be the first product from the brand to offer a BS-VI unit.

The KTM 390 Adventure differs from its naked streetfighter sibling by offering a larger wheelbase, higher ground clearance, taller seat height, bigger fuel tank, heavier overall weight and a change in steering head angle and trail.

The 390 Duke comes with a 65-degree steering head angle and 95-degree trail. The KTM 390 Adventure, on the other hand, receives a 63.5-degree head angle while the trail angle is at 98-degree. This in-turn increases the wheelbase, which is 1,430mm on the 390 Adventure (compared to the 390 Duke with 1,357mm wheelbase).

The adventure version of the 390cc motorcycle also offers a ground clearance of 200mm. This has also increased the seat height to 855mm. The 390 Adventure also comes with a larger fuel tank capacity of 14.5-litres while weighing in at 158kg (dry); slightly higher than the 390 Duke.

Other changes also include the tyres and suspension setup on the KTM 390 Adventure. The off-roader now comes with large 19-inch tyres at the front and 17-inch tyres at the rear, with 100/90 and 130/80 profiles, respectively.

The suspension is handled by 43mm USD forks at the front with compression and rebound adjustability. The front suspension also offers travel of 170mm; compared to 142mm of travel on the 390 Duke. Similarly, the rear suspension made up of a mono-shock also offers preload and rebound adjustability while offering 177mm of travel.

The KTM 390 Adventure has long been one of the most-awaited motorcycles from the brand. The adventure motorcycle has been teased quite a few times, both globally and in India as well. Now with its global premiere at EICMA, the motorcycle is all set to enter the Indian market.

Once launched in India, the KTM 390 Adventure will rival the likes of the BMW G 310 GS and the Royal Enfield Himalayan. It will be priced lower than the BMW, in the range of around Rs 2.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh, ex-showroom.
