Honda Activa 125 BS-VI Purchased Using Thousands Of Coins Worth Rs 83,000
A man from Madhya Pradesh is in the news after he used coins to purchase his Honda Activa 125 BS-VI. Rakesh Kumar Gupta, a citizen of Panna Naka in Satna, Orissa purchased a Honda Activa 125 by paying Rs 83,000 in coins. The purchase through coins set the mood for the festive season at the Honda dealership.
According to most Indians, the festive season is the perfect time to purchase a vehicle as it is considered auspicious and there are also multiple discounts and offers on hand. To purchase these vehicles, there are people who pay in full via bank transfers or other methods while some others opt to finance their vehicle purchase.
Rakesh Kumar Gupta too wanted to purchase a brand new Honda Activa 125 BS-VI, but he had something unique in mind when it came to paying for it. He went to Krishna Honda in Panna Naka and opted for the new Honda Activa 125 BS-VI.
But instead of opting for one of the existing payment options, he made a unique proposal to pay the entire amount in coins. He then handed over lots of bags filled with thousands of coins. According to a Honda statement, the coins were all in denominations of Rs 5 and Rs 10.
It took more than three hours for the dealership personnel to count these coins. According to Honda, this only boosted the overall festive atmosphere.
Rakesh Kumar Gupta was quoted as saying, "Like many, Diwali is the biggest auspicious occasion for my family and I. This Dhanteras, I had decided to buy Honda Activa 125 BS-VI to make my daily commuting easier as nothing compares to the legacy of Honda. I am very happy to be a part of this quiet revolution."
The Honda Activa 125 BS-VI was first revealed in June 2019, nearly 10 months ahead of the BS-VI deadline. The scooter was then launched on 11 September, 2019 and deliveries began earlier this month.
It is the first BS-VI scooter in India and is finding several takers in the premium scooter segment. It is powered by an air-cooled, fuel-injected, 125cc, single-cylinder engine with a maximum power output of 8.4bhp and a peak torque output of 10.54bhp. A variomatic transmission drives the rear wheel.
Thoughts On Honda Activa 125 BS-VI Bought By Paying Entirely In Coins
The Honda Activa 125 is one of the most modern scooters on sale in the Indian market. It is attracting a lot of buyers, but this has made headlines because it is certainly the most unique purchase.
Paying for a brand new premium 125cc scooter using just coins is something unique and something that has never been done before. Kudos to Rakesh Kumar Gupta for the thought.
