Hero XPulse 200T Sales Higher Than Competition — Becomes The Best-Selling ADV In India
Hero MotoCorp launched the Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T in the Indian market earlier this year. The Hero XPulse 200T is, however, the more road-biased version while the XPulse 200 is the off-roader variant.
The Hero XPulse 200T is the most-affordable ADV in the country, offered with a price tag of Rs 94,000, ex-showroom (Delhi). According to the latest sales report for the month of June 2019, the XPulse 200T has registered sales of 2,674 units in the previous month; making it the best-selling ADV in the country.
The Hero XPulse 200T has overtaken its main rival, the Royal Enfield Himalayan in India. The Himalayan managed to register sales of just 1,223 units during the same period. The Royal Enfield Himalayan is also priced higher than the XPulse 200T; almost double at Rs 1.80 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi).
The Hero XPulse 200T comes with a host of features. This includes LED headlamps, metal bash plate at the bottom, dual-purpose 17-inch wheels, exhaust pipe positioned at a slightly higher angle and a tall windscreen as well. It also features a fully-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity as well.
The Hero XPulse 200T is powered by a 200cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. It produces 18bhp and 17.1Nm of peak torque and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. The XPulse 200T offers telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, each with 190mm and 170mm of travel, respectively. Braking is handled by discs on either end.
In comparison, the Royal Enfield is powered by a more powerful 411cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. It produces 24.5bhp and 32Nm of peak torque; mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The Himalayan also come with telescopic front forks and a monoshock suspension set-up. However, it offers more travel; 200mm at the front and 180mm travel at the rear. Braking is handled by larger discs as well on either end.
Thoughts On The Hero XPulse 200T Sales
The Hero XPulse 200T is the latest entrant to the affordable-ADV segment in the Indian market; a segment started by the Himalayan in India. The XPulse 200T has now overtaken the sales of the Royal Enfield Himalayan, due to its competitive pricing and the amount of features on offer. Apart from the Himalayan, the XPulse 200T also rivals the likes of the BMW G 310 GS in the Indian market.
