Hero XPulse 200 Launch Date Revealed — Two Different Versions To Be Offered
The world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer Hero Motocorp is set to launch the all-new XPulse 200 in India on the 1st of May. The new Hero motorcycle will be offered in two guises: XPulse 200 & XPulse 200t.
The Hero XPulse 200 and 200t will be the second and third members of Hero's new 200cc plus lineup following the Xtreme 200R. The two new bikes will be powered by the same engine found on the Xtreme 200R. The 199.6cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine produces 18.1bhp at 8,000rpm and 17.1Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
Production version of both the XPulse 200 and XPulse 200t spotted in the wild (and seen here thanks to Instagram channel MotopixelTV) have been seen sporting telescopic forks up front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is provided by single discs on both wheels which are supported by single channel ABS.
However, it with the wheel sizes is where the difference between the two bikes is seen. The XPulse 200, which is setup for off roading sports a large 21-inch front wheel while the rear unit measures in at 18-inches in diameter, both of which are clad in off-road-spec tyres. The ground clearance of the XPulse 200 is also a healthy 220mm.
The XPulse 200t, on the other hand, is aimed at the touring segment and sports smaller 17-inch wheels which are clad in more road biased tyres. The ground clearance of the tourer version of the XPulse is 180mm, a full 30mm lower than that of the more off-roading focused 200.
It is not just the small mechanical bits that set the two bikes apart from each other. The Hero XPulse 200, which was unveiled at the EICMA 2017 in Milan, sports a raised front mudguard, knuckle guards and spoked wheels, while the XPulse 200t, which was unveiled a year after its offroading sibling, features a more conventional front mudguard and alloy wheels. Both bikes share the round headlamp design, along with the wideset handlebars along and the single piece seat. Other features shared by the XPulse duo include a digital display and LED head and tail lights.
