Four Cylinder Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R To Debut At 2019 Tokyo Motor Show

It was reported last month that a prototype 250cc inline four-cylinder Kawasaki Ninja is ready. We now know that the motorcycle will make an appearance at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. The report comes from the Indonesian website, 7leopold7.

According to IndianAutosBlog, We are also given to understand that the new 250cc inline-four, is expected to make it's Indonesian debut at the Kawasaki Bike Week 2020. The motorcycle will most likely be called the Ninja ZX-25R, and keeping in mind Kawasaki's aggressive strategy for the India, we expect to see this motorcycle launch here real soon.

While we have no information about performance numbers just yet, what we know is this - Kawasaki's 249 cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine on the Ninja 250 produces 39bhp @ 12,500 rpm and 23.5Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. The inline four will obviously be more capable and will most likely be Euro-V/BS-VI compliant from the get go.

We expect the quarter litre four-cylinder Kawasaki Ninja to feature upside-down telescopic forks in the front, a ride-by-wire system for multiple riding modes, full LED head lights and tail lights, a fully digital instrument console, and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking will likely be handled by a single disc on both wheels. Dual-channel ABS will be offered as a standard.

Although there is no information about global pricing, we expect the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R to be placed above the Kawasaki Ninja 300, which retails at Rs 2.98 ex-showroom (India). We also expect the motorcycle to arrive in India during the first half of 2020.

Thoughts About The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R

It is about time India has in-line four quarter litre motorcycles. We know that Honda has not launched the in-line four CBR2500RR in India just yet, and it will good to see Kawasaki taking the first step. May be Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki will follow considering that these manufacturers want to concentrate on performance oriented motorcycles going forward.
