2019 Dakar Rally Stage 4 Results — Hero MotoSports And Sherco TVS Racing Battle It Out!
2019 Dakar Rally: Stage 4 (Arequipa - Moquegua) results out. Distance: 106km liaison + 405km special. Here are the highlights.
Stage 4 results of 2019 Dakar Rally are out. Regarded as one of the toughest stages in the entire rally, stage 4's biggest challenge was to bring the bikes back in one piece to take on the remaining stages. Both contestants and their machines were pushed to their limits.
The fourth stage extended from Arequipa to Moquegua. It consisted of a 106-kilometre liaison and a 405-kilometre special. A portion of the terrain included rocky formations and contestants had to perform slalom runs in between them. Check out the results of the stage 3.
Ricky Brabec from Monster Energy Honda finished first in Dakar 2019 Stage 4. The second and third positions were grabbed by Matthias Walkner and Toby Price from Red Bull KTM Factory team.
Sherco TVS Racing's Lorenzo Santolino and Hero MotoSports' Oriol Mena showcased a tight battle between each other. The two were battling it out to reach the top 10 positions. Lorenzo could push to the 10th place while Mena came 11th; just 14 seconds behind.
Brothers, Michael Metge and Adrien Metge also put up a friendly competition and managed to maintain good timing. Michael finished 17th while his younger brother came 21st.
On the other hand, stage 4 was not forgiving to Aravind KP, but he is determined to complete the rally no matter what the challenges are. Aravind KP is currently 64th 'overall'.
Meanwhile, it was a tough time for Joaquim Rodrigues and CS Santosh from Hero MotoSports. In addition to the navigational challenges, dust storms started forming without giving the least notice. Amidst the storm, the main risk was getting hit by other participants - motorcycles, quads, cars, supercross and even trucks.
However, the duo managed to finish in the 30th and 51st positions.
Verdict
Stage 4 of Dakar 2019 was quite tricky such that the leaders of the previous stage fell back while others overtook them. The Indian Moto category teams will hopefully make it to the top 10 in the next stage. Stage 5 of Dakar 2019 extends from a.
