Bajaj Pulsar RS200 Dual Channel ABS Price Revealed Before Launch: Priced At Rs 1.4 Lakh Ex-Showroom
Bajaj Auto is ready to launch the Pulsar RS200 dual-channel ABS variant soon, and prices for the upcoming motorcycle have been revealed. The RS200 is a faired version of the NS200, and is a very popular motorcycle.
According to reports, the new Pulsar RS200 Dual Channel ABS will be priced at Rs 1.43 lakh (ex-showroom, India), just a Rs 1,000 more than the current-generation RS200. Considering the price, Bajaj will most likely discontinue the current-generation RS200 motorcycles.
The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 dual-channel ABS variant will feature the same 199cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder BS-IV compliant engine that produces 24.5bhp of power and 18.6Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox, and will not feature a slipper clutch.
The Bajaj Pulsar RS200 shares its platform with the KTM Duke 200. However, the Duke 200 is priced more that the RS, because of it sportiness and performance. The engine on the Duke produces 25bhp of power and 19.2Nm of torque - a small increase that makes a huge difference to its sportier and increased compression ratio.
The Pulsar range of motorcycles have a massive fan following in India, and in other markets that Bajaj exports to. The RS200 community have been waiting for the dual-channel ABS upgrade for a while now.
The company has made no other changes to the RS200 outside of the braking system. And rumor has it that the company will give existing owners the option of upgrading their RS200 motorcycles to feature the dual-channel ABS unit.
In Bajaj related news, the company recently partnered with Bangalore based micro-mobility start up, Yulu. Bajaj has invested Rs 57.27 crore in the company, and will manage deployment of micro-mobility vehicles on a large scale.
Bajaj will also manufacture electric bikes specifically for the partnership with Yulu. The round of investments by Bajaj will be used to strengthen Yulu's mobility platform, and will also be directed towards research and development. To read more about this partnership, click here.
Thoughts About The Retail Price Of The RS200
A thousand rupees more for a dual-channel ABS unit is brilliant. Bajaj has always been, and is the biggest player in the mass market game. Pricing the RS200 just right will ensure that the motorcycle sells. What they really need to do is upgrade to BS-VI. One would have expected the upgrade considering they took forever to carry an ABS upgrade.
