Ather Energy’s 'AtherSpace' Dealership Network To Expand To More Cities Across India
Ather Energy Dealership Locations: Bangalore-based electric two-wheeler maker, Ather Energy’s dealerships to expand to Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune & Delhi.
Ather Energy, the Bangalore-based electric two-wheeler start-up, aims to expand their 'AtherSpace' brand-operated dealership network to more cities across India; mainly Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi. The news was confirmed by the company through a recent post on social media. The new AtherSpace outlets will commence operation within the second half of this year and the first half of next year.
Ather Energy currently has only one AtherSpace — in Indiranagar, Bangalore. For the same reason, their product reach is mostly confined within the state of Karnataka.
The company is consistently gaining popularity across India since those who've ridden their products have only good things to say. Ather Energy has two electric scooters in their portfolio: 340 and 450. They are priced at Rs 1.15 lakh and 1.30 lakh on-road (Bangalore), respectively.
Both scooters come standard with features such as a seven-inch touchscreen instrument console, smartphone connectivity, parking assist and in-built navigation. The Ather 340 promises a range of 50-60km while the Ather 450 gets 60-75km.
Ather Energy is also concentrating on setting up exclusive charging facilities (AtherGrid) in every city they are planning to sell their products. Hence, the newly-announced AtherSpace locations will most likely get the supporting infrastructure first.
Furthermore, Tarun Mehta, co-founder and CEO of Ather Energy shared a picture of a warehouse comprising of Ather models ready for delivery. He mentioned that the brand has expanded production and is currently running out of space to keep the finished products.
It was only recently when Hero MotoCorp announced their interest to invest Rs 130 crore in Ather Energy, in addition to the 205-crore investment made back in 2016. In total, the company has raised close to Rs 425 crore through investments from Hero MotoCorp, Tiger Global and Flipkart's co-founders, Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal.
Electric vehicles are slowly getting traction in the country and both the Indian government as well as manufacturers are trying the best to promote them. In a recent update, the government has even reduced the import duty on electric-vehicle parts and components.
Thoughts On Ather Energy's Expanding AtherSpace Network
Ather Energy is a promising name among the infant sphere of India's electric mobility. The company proved that electric two-wheelers need not be slow, ugly and low on desirability, but can be fast, technologically-advanced and aesthetically good. With AtherSpace outlets coming to more cities in India, Ather Energy will surely get the boost they require to be at the forefront of electric two-wheelers.
