Volvo has launched two new variants for the XC40 SUV, the Momentum and the Inscription. Prices for the new variants start at Rs 39.90 lakh, ex-showroom (India).
Volvo recently launched its small SUV, the XC40 in India. The Volvo XC40 was initially launched in just one variant, the R-design. The company has now added two new variants to its lineup: Momentum and Inscription.
The new base variant of the Volvo XC40, the Momentum comes with a price tag of Rs 39.90 lakh. While the top-of-the-line 'Inscription' variant is priced at Rs 43.90 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom (India).
Volvo Cars India have received over 200 bookings for the XC40, within the first two weeks of its launch.
The mid-level ‘R-Design' variant was launched with an introductory price of Rs 39.90 lakh. Prices for the Volvo XC40 R-Design has now been increased to Rs 42.90 lakh, ex-showroom (India).
Both the new variants will carry forward the same power unit. This will be the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. It produces 190bhp and 400Nm of torque. The engine is further mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, sending power to all four wheels.
In terms of features, Volvo offers similar equipment on their mid and top-level variants. Both the R-Design and Inscription models come with a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 18-inch alloy wheels, powered tailgate, heated front and rear seats, wireless phone charging and 12-speakers from Harmon Kardon sound system.
The Volvo XC40 Inscription model receives additional features as well. The additional features on the top-end variant: different design and finish on the front grille, six-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels, driftwood inlays on the interiors, crystal gear knob and electrically-foldable rear-seat headrests.
The base variant, the Momentum misses out on a number of these features. The Volvo XC40 Momentum comes with a different design on its 18-inch alloy wheels, standard infotainment system and cruise control.
However, all three variants come with the same level of safety features: lane-keeping assist, blind-spot warning, pilot assist, emergency braking, ESP, traction control, eight-airbags and cruise control.
Bookings for the two new variants have already started for an amount of Rs 2 lakh. Deliveries of the new variants of the Volvo XC40 is expected to begin from sometime in August.
