Triumph Motorcycles India Focus On Tier-II Cities To Maintain Sales Growth
Triumph Motorcycles India focuses on Tier-II cities for sales volume and growth. Plan to launch new dealerships in smaller cities and conduct experience tours.
Triumph Motorcycles India announced recently that it will focus sales on Tier-II cities. The company hope to increase growth through sales in cities like Ludhiana and Surat. Triumph plans expand base in India through this process and maintain double-digit growth.
The company hopes to achieve their target sales figures through its Speedmaster, Tiger 800 and the recently launched Tiger 1200. Triumph sold around 1,175 units in the last fiscal year.
The company plans to increase its dealership network across the country. Currently, Triumph has 16 dealerships, which will be increased to 24 by the year-end.
These new dealerships will be set-up in Tier-II cities, with experience stores. The company plans to focus on engaging the customers in smaller cities through various events as well.
Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India stated, "We plan to have 24 stores in the next 2-3 years, of which 50% will be in tier 2 cities, most of which would be on a franchise basis."
He further added, "In terms of Triumph, our strategy is very clear. We have a three-pronged strategy. One is in terms of getting the right kind of brands and being present in all the segments in India. Our second part of the strategy was to ensure that our footprint in terms of experience stores is well laid-down in India."
"Our third strategy is to engage with the customers through events, whether it is a Tiger training academy, Tiger trail or the California school training on track."
"So we are investing more not only on the brand or in terms of giving an experience via our experience tour, we are also working to make this segment become large and it is helping us to gain our market share so our strategy is working very well."
The company launched the updated version of the Triumph Tiger 1200 in India at a price of Rs 17 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi). The Tiger 1200 comes with around 100 new updates. This includes a new five-inch fully digital instrument cluster, backlit switchgear, LED lighting, adaptive cornering lights, cruise control and keyless ignition.
