Top-Selling Bikes In India August 2018: Honda Activa 5G Widens Gap Between Hero Splendor
Best-Selling Bikes In India August 2018: The two-wheeler sales report of August 2018 has once again proved that the Honda Activa 5G is India's favourite two-wheeler. India is a huge market for two-wheelers and many foreign manufacturers such as Honda 2 Wheelers, Suzuki Motorcycle and Yamaha have invested heavily in our country.
However, the list of top-selling bikes in India shows that Honda is the majorly-loved foreign two-wheeler brand in India, with their Activa and CB Shine models occupying the top positions. The Honda Activa has also widened its gap between the Hero Splendor in terms of sales; evident from the list of best-selling bikes of July 2018.
That said, here are the top-selling bikes of August 2018:

Honda Activa 5G
The Honda Activa 5G was launched at Auto Expo 2018, held back in February 2018. The latest generation of the most popular scooter in the country comes with full-LED headlamps, 4-in-1 locking mechanism and new colours. With the updated cosmetics and equipment, the desirability for the Activa has grown even further.
Hero Splendor Plus
The Hero Splendor is one of the most iconic commuter bikes sold in India, with a heritage of more than 20 years. The Splendor has been the top-selling motorcycle in India consistently for many years while in the entire two-wheeler category, the Activa generations surpassed it. The latest model features enough for its pricing too.
Hero HF Deluxe
The Hero HF Deluxe shares the same mechanicals as of the Splendor but sits below it in the brand's product portfolio. The HF Deluxe also comes with the basic and essential features expected at its price point, including alloy wheels and self-start. There is a special green-coloured version of the motorcycle called the Hero HF Deluxe ECO.
Honda CB Shine
The Honda CB Shine comes with an extremely-refined engine in typical Honda fashion. The motorcycle offers decent performance and fuel economy too. The engine comes with the Japanese brand's HET (Honda Eco Technology) while the CBS (Combi Brake System) promises more safety while riding. The Honda CB Shine has also been one of the best-sellers for the brand ever since it was first introduced acouple of years before.
Hero Passion

The Hero Passion is currently available in three variants: PRO, PRO 110 and X PRO. The latest version of the another-iconic-Hero product is equipped with the brand's i3S technology — aimed to essentially save fuel while the motorcycle is in idling state. Unlike the Hero Splendor with which it shares its engine, the Hero Passion gets a front disc brake too.
Bajaj CT 100
The TVS Jupiter is a really good-looking offering the 110cc scooter segment and is available a few different variants. TVS has also introduced a rather elegant-looking version of the scooter called the TVS Jupiter Classic which comes with brown-coloured seats, chrome elements and a windscreen. The TVS Jupiter also showcases one of the best performances in its class.
Hero Glamour
The Hero Glamour, in its latest iteration, comes with a lot of updates and improvements over the previous model. The list of new features extends from an LED tail lamp, semi-digital instrument console to i3S technology. The Hero Glamour also showcases enough performance and returns good mileage figures to make it desirable in the 125cc category.
TVS XL Super
The TVS XL Super is an utility-focussed two-wheeler and is the only one of its kind in India right now. Initially a moped, the new TVS XL 100 models come with all the essential basics plus vibrant colour choices. The single-speed gearbox makes the riding part quite easy while the engine is tuned for carrying as much load as possible.
Bajaj Pulsar
The Bajaj Pulsar range started the affordable sporty motorcycle trend in the country with the original Pulsar 150 model which was launched many years before. The latest model line of the Bajaj Pulsar is available in 150cc, 180cc, 200cc and 220cc formats; the former being the big-seller while the second-last is the most premium.
Verdict
The list of top-selling two-wheelers of last month is somewhat similar to that of July 2018. The Honda Activa has made record sales as always while the Hero Splendor is slowly lagging more behind. You can expect the most of the models on this list to appear on the sales report of September 2018 too. The majority of Indian buyers prefer affordable commuter bikes as their first choice and manufacturers are trying their best to introduce more such products.
