SWM Superdual T Adventure-Tourer Launch Details Revealed — To Rival The Suzuki V-Strom 650
Kinetic Group's MotoRoyale is said to introduce their latest adventure-tourer motorcycle, the SWM Superdual T in India on the 11th October. According to IAB, the motorcycle was expected to be launched in India earlier in September, however, it has now been confirmed with the new date.
The SWM Superdual is available in two variants: T and X. The Superdual T is a more basic variant while the Superdual X is a more off-road going variant.
Both motorcycles are powered by the same 600cc, DOHC, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It produces 53.6bhp and 53.5Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox, with a basic chain drive system.
The motorcycles will be brought in as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit from China and assembled at Kinetic's plant in Aurangabad.
The suspension on the Superdual T comes through 45mm USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear. Being an adventure-tourer, the front forks offer a good 210 and 220mm of travel at the front and rear.
The SWM Superdual T also uses a single 300mm and 220mm disc brakes from Brembo and is supported by dual-channel ABS as standard. The motorcycle also features a switchable Enduro Mode.
Among the two variants of the motorcycles, the Superdual T rides on 110/80 R19 and 140/80 R17 wire-spoke tyres with Metzeler Tourance rubber. On the other hand, the Superdual X sits on 90/90 R21 and 140/80 R18 with Metzeler Enduro 3 Sahara off-road tyres.
Standard features on the MotoRoyale SWM Superdual: 12V charging socket, tall windshield, handguards, LED spotlights, luggage mounting rack, fairing and engine guards. The motorcycles also come with the optional ‘GT Pack' offering additional features, such as a pair of 33-litre aluminium side cases.
Differences between the T and X variant, apart from the tyres include a bigger ground clearance. The Superdual T comes with a clearance of 180mm while the Superdual X gets 230mm ground clearance.
Also, the X variant is longer and taller by 30mm and 20mm, respectively. Both motorcycle, however, features the same 18-litre fuel tank capacity.
Thoughts On The SWM SuperDual T In India
The Kinetic Group's MotoRoyale will market the SWM Superdual alongside the likes of the MV Agusta, Hyosung and FB Mondial in India. The SWM Superdual T once launched in India will likely be priced around the Rs 5.5 lakh, ex-showroom. The motorcycle will take on the likes of the Kawasaki Versys 650 and the recently launched Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT.
