Suzuki Access 125 And Burgman Street 125 Registers Record Sales Figures In August 2018
Japanese two-wheeler maker Suzuki recently launched the new Burgman Street in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 68,000 ex-showroom (Delhi). Now, riding on the sales of the Suzuki Burgman Street, the company has recorded its highest sales in the domestic market in August 2018.
The 125cc scooter segment is growing in popularity and Suzuki has been successful in tapping the segment. The company sold 62,446 units if the Burgman Street and Access 125 in the month of August 2018. Suzuki registered a year-on-year growth of 41 percent.
The new Suzuki Burgman Street was the main reason behind the growth, as 55,000 units of the moto-scooter were sold last month. Launched in July 2018, the Burgman Street has received an overwhelming response from the Indian buyers. The unique styling of the scooter is the USP of Burgman Street.
The Suzuki Burgman Street draws power from a 124cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 8.5bhp and 10.2Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox. The same engine also does its duty on the Access 125 and the performance remains the same on both the scooters.
The Suzuki Burgman Street sports a unique design which is inspired from the European scooter design language. The muscular front apron, unique handlebar and new features make the Burgman Street stand out from the crowd in the 125cc scooter segment. With the festive season around the corner, we can expect the rise in sales.
To keep up the momentum, Suzuki also plans to launch new products in the Indian market. Suzuki is also said to be working on a new 250cc bike to rival the FZ250. We expect the new bike to be christened as Gixxer 250 as the 150cc Gixxer is very popular in the country.
