Royal Enfield 650-Twins To Be Launched Next Month; Details Revealed
Royal Enfield has confirmed the Indian launch of the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. The two motorcycles will be launched during Diwali, between the 22nd to 26th September 2018.
Royal Enfield will be introducing the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 in India, sometime later this year. According to ZigWheels, the launch of the Royal Enfield 650 Twins will take place between 22nd to 26th September 2018.
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 were first unveiled at the 2017 EICMA Motor show. The two motorcycles were initially expected to be launched in India, during the first half of 2018.
However, Royal Enfield delayed the launch to resolve production issues, regarding the two motorcycles.
Since its unveiling, the 650 twins have received a high demand in international markets as well. The Royal Enfield 650-twins have already been launched in International markets. It was first launched in California, USA, followed by UK and Australia.
The Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer has fast forwarded the launch of the 650 twins in India, as they hope to capitalise on the upcoming festive season in the country.
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is based on a retro-style cruiser motorcycle, with a modern design. The Continental GT 650, on the other hand, will carry forward the same cafe racer design seen on the previous generation model. This includes round headlamps, large fuel tank, single-seat option, as well as clip-on handlebars.
Both motorcycles will be powered by the same 650cc, parallel-twin, oil cooled engine. It produces 47bhp and 52Nm of torque, with fuel injection as standard. The 650-twins will be the first motorcycles from Royal Enfield to come with a six-speed gearbox.
Thoughts On The Royal Enfield 650-Twins India Launch
Both motorcycles, the Interceptor and the Continental GT 650 from Royal Enfield have a gained a huge popularity, both in India and international markets.
Once launched in India, both the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 are expected to be priced around Rs 3.5 lakh, ex-showroom. The two motorcycles will rival the likes of the Harley Davidson Street 750 in India.
