New Jawa Motorcycles India Video Teaser Out: Reveals The Engine Sound
Jawa Motorcycles has finally launched their new models in India at a starting price of Rs 1.55 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). Before this, the brand had also shared a new teaser video of its upcoming motorcycles, ahead of their official unveiling. The 15-second video doesn't show much of the bike, but the new Jawa engine sound which is talked about a lot.
Jawa Motorcycles India officially shared the engine details of their new models, a few months back. The 293cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine makes 27bhp and 28Nm of torque. The unit comes mated to a six-speed gearbox.
What is more interesting is that the engineers have developed the new Jawa Motorcycles engine, such that it sounds somewhat similar to the original two-stroke motor. The engine is a modified version of the unit powering the Mahindra Mojo.
From the official Jawa Motorcycles India video teaser, we can make out a rather unique engine sound. However, being a four-stroke unit, it can never replicate the high-revving audio of an old two-stroke. Soon, we will see the engine doing duty in the new and highly-anticipated Jawa 300.
Due to the high demand and anticipation on the market, Mahindra Two Wheelers dealerships and exclusive Jawa outlets have been getting tons of enquiries, the past few weeks. For the same reason, some dealerships have started taking unofficial bookings for the new Jawa Motorcycles.
Once launched, the new Jawa Motorcycles India products will rival the likes of Royal Enfield — the leader of the classic cruiser motorcycles segment on the market. The new Jawa models will be priced competitively to absorb some part of the market and will showcase a stiff competition to the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Owing to this, one of the new Jawa motorcycles will be priced at Rs 1.5 lakh ex-showroom.
Jawa Motorcycles India is a subsidiary of Classic Legends, which is now owned by Mahindra. The iconic ‘Jawa bikes' have a cult following across the world and especially in India. They are sold in some European markets as well.
Prior to its official unveiling, spy pics of the new Jawa 300 and 350 models were leaked on various social media platforms. One example of the new Jawa motorcycles for India was even spotted completely undisguised, while the rest were found camouflaged.
