Mahindra Mojo UT300 Launched In India
Mahindra Mojo UT300 launched in India.
The new Mahindra Mojo UT300 is priced at Rs 1.49 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
The Mahindra Mojo UT300 retains the styling of the original Mojo (now called the XT300).
The Mojo UT300 is essentially a stripped down version of the Mojo XT300 losing out considerably in terms of equipment to make the bike more affordable.
Mahindra says the new UT badging stands for ‘Universal Touring', while the XT stands for ‘Xtreme Tourer'.
The company is offering a Rs 10,000 introductory benefit on the Mahindra Mojo UT300 valid till March 2018.
The Mahindra Mojo UT300 loses out on the Mojo's throaty twin-exhausts for a single-sided setup, suggesting that the UT300 is much lighter than the XT300.
Also, the Mojo UT300 is shod with MRF tyres instead of the expensive Pirelli Diablo Rosso II to reduce the cost of the bike.
Other changes include the missing LED DRLs, which is positioned above the twin-pod headlights in the Mojo XT300. Also, the Mojo UT300 loses out the gold-coloured accents.
Braking duties are carried out by disc brakes at the front as well as at the rear, but ABS is not offered.

The Mojo UT300 loses out the Upside Down (USD) front suspension. Instead, it gets a telescopic suspension, while at the rear, it continues to get the mono shock suspension.
Mechanically, the Mahindra Mojo UT300 continues to draw power from the same 295cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine, but gets a carburettor fuel system instead of fuel injection.
Mahindra has not revealed the power figures of the Mojo UT300 yet.
Speaking on the launch, Prakash Wakankar, CEO - Mahindra Two Wheelers Business said, "At Mahindra, we have always believed in innovation and providing our consumers with an exciting value proposition. With the launch of the Mojo UT 300, we believe that we have an exciting product offering for the new age bike enthusiast. With the launch of this new variant, the Mojo will now be available to a wider range of consumers in more than 60 cities across India."
DriveSpark's Thought About The New Mahindra Mojo UT300 Launch
While there were not many takers for the original Mahindra Mojo XT300, the Mojo UT300 should attract buyers especially touring enthusiast.
Also, with the introductory offer of Rs 10,000 which is valid until the end of March 2018, the Mahindra Mojo UT300 is priced at Rs 1.39 lakh (1.49 lakh-Rs 10,000 offer).
This puts the Mojo UT300 is competition with the similarly priced Bajaj Dominar 400.
When compared to the Mahindra Mojo XT300, the Mojo UT300 is Rs 21,000 cheaper, positioning the Mojo in the competitive Rs 1.5 lakh priced bikes in India.
