Jawa Dual-Channel ABS Variants To Launch Soon — Result Of Intense Market Feedback
Jawa Motorcycles will launch new dual-channel ABS variants of their existing line-up. As you would expect, the upcoming Jawa ABS variants will sport a rear-disc brake; effective from June 2019. The new update is on account of the latest market feedback.
This news is particularly interesting since the brand themselves stated why the new Jawa motorcycles do not have a rear disc.To an extent, we agree to their reasoning even though we would still prefer a rear-discJawa variant with dual-channel ABS over the regular models.
Prices for the new Jawa dual-channel ABS models will be higher by Rs 8,942 compared to regular versions. In addition to this, the first official Jawa outlet has recently started operations in Pune (find your nearest Jawa showroom, plus how to make a booking). Jawa Motorcycles launched two new models in India: Jawa 42 and ‘Jawa', at Rs 1.55 lakh and 1.64 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi), respectively.
ABS-equipped motorcycles are on the rise in the Indian market, and the demand for dual-channel ABS is not less either. You can check out the full list of ABS bikes in India, here. Some major motorcycle brands operating in India offer only a few models with ABS.
The Czech-origin motorcycle brand had also introduced the Jawa Perak; a bobber-style motorcycle set to be launched at a later stage at Rs 1.89 lakh. The showcased Jawa Perak had a rear-disc brake and, of course, dual-channel ABS. It even has an upgraded engine.
The Jawa 42 and ‘Jawa' models are powered by the same 293cc liquid-cooled engine which makes 27bhp and 28Nm of torque. This is mated to a six-speed transmission. The Jawa Perak, on the other hand, has a larger 334cc engine which makes close to 30bhp and 31Nm of torque.
Each of the three new Jawa motorcycles has its own character, but many are confused as to which is better suited for them. If you are on the same page as them, you might be able to get an answer in our ‘Jawa vs Jawa 42 vs Jawa Perak Comparison'.
Thoughts On The New Jawa Dual-Channel ABS Variants
The addition of dual-channel ABS and a rear-disc on existing Jawa models is a much-welcome update. It is also good to see that the brand is considering market feedback as a high priority. Both the regular and rear-disc variants will be on sale in the coming months.
