Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP showcased at Auto Expo 2018. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd. unveiled and showcased eleven new models which ranged from commuters bikes and scooters to sports bikes. Among the lot, the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP was showcased at the event. The CBR 1000RR Fireblade SP is Honda's first motorcycle to feature semi-active(S-EC) suspension, lithium-ion battery, quick-shifter with a slipper clutch and Brembo front callipers.

The new Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP is smaller, lighter and quicker. All of this is possible because of its unique features. The standard Fireblade and the SP share the same engine. Honda has tweaked the power resulting in an 11bhp bump in power over the previous model. The new Fireblade SP is also 2kg lighter, and rev limit is now 750rpm higher than the former.

The 999cc inline-4, liquid-cooled engine churns out 189bhp @ 13,000rpm, and 114Nm of torque @ 11,000rpm. The Fireblade SP is closely related to the Fireblade, but the SP comes with improved power to weight ratio.

The Fireblade SP is equipped with semi-active Öhlins Step motor-type Electronic Control suspension, plus Honda Selectable Torque Control (with built-in Wheelie Control and Rear Lift Control), Selectable Engine Brake, New ABS, Quickshifter (with Downshift Assist), Riding Mode Select System and Power Selector. RC213V-S MotoGP derived technology elevates the riding experience even further.

The Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP comes with five riding modes for different riding performance. While the mode one delivers smooth and linear throttle response, the mode two controls the power output through the first three gears with medium HSTC, suspension, engine braking and suspension damping force adjustments.

The third mode analyses output through fourth - to top gear. High HSTC input produces better traction and stability along with an improvement in engine braking while adapting to a low suspension damping setting. The last two modes are 'User Modes', when selected, the bike's modes one, two and three can be programmed independently to suit rider's style, his weight, track layout and conditions. You can turn off some settings if you wish.

Thoughts About The Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP

The new Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade is a stunning looking performance bike, but we're not sure if the Japanese bike manufacturer will be bringing it to India. That said, Honda should consider launching the Fireblade SP in India for auto enthusiasts.
