Harley-Davidson India Reduces Prices Of CVO And Touring Lineup
Harley-Davidson India has reduced the prices for its Touring And CVO lineup in the country. The price reduction was announced on the sidelines of the launch of the new Softail models, the Low Rider and Deluxe. Harley-Davidson has reduced the price of the bikes which are imported as CBU (Completely Built Unit) to the country.
Harley-Davidson has reduced the price of its imported bikes as the Government of India has reduced the import or customs duty on high-end bikes to 50 percent. Previously, the bikes with engine capacity of 800cc or less would attract an import duty of 60 percent and the bikes above 600cc were slapped with an import duty of 75 percent.
Harley-Davidson's flagship offering in the country, the CVO Limited has received a maximum price cut of Rs 3.73 lakh. The CVO Limited is now available at Rs 49.99 lakh as opposed to the old price of Rs 53.72 lakh.

Harley-Davidson has also reduced the prices of its touring range. The Road King gets a price cut of Rs 3.38 lakh and will be available at a new price tag of Rs 24.99 lakh as opposed to the old price of Rs 28.37 lakh. The Street Glide Special is now priced at Rs 29.99 lakh as compared the old price of Rs 33.50 lakh. It gets a price cut of Rs 3.51 lakh.
The top-of-the-range touring motorcycle from Harley-Davidson, the Road Glide Special has received the least price cut of Rs 2.62 lakh, and the new price stands at Rs 32.99 lakh. Before the price reduction, the motorcycle was priced at Rs 35.61 lakh.
Apart from the price reduction, Harley-Davidson also launched the new Softail models, the Low Rider at Rs 12.99 lakh and Deluxe at Rs 17.99 lakh. The American motorcycle manufacturer also launched the Fat Boy Anniversary Edition with a price tag of Rs 19.79 lakh.
DriveSpark's Thoughts On The Price Reduction Of Harley-Davidson Bikes
Harley-Davidson is not the first company to reduce the price after the reduction of import duties. BMW Motorrad has already reduced the prices of the entire lineup in India. The Harley-Davidson touring and CVO range becomes much cheaper in the country as the bikes get a considerable price cut. So, now the prices being reduced, it is the best time to own a Harley-Davidson bike!
