BMW G 310 R And G 310 GS Deliveries To Start Soon; Details Revealed

Deliveries of the newly-launched BMW G 310 R and the G 310 GS will start within a week’s time. Bookings for the BMW twins already started by early-June 2018.

BMW Motorrad recently launched the G 310 R and the G 310 GS motorcycles in India. The two 310cc motorcycles are priced at Rs 2.99 lakh and Rs 3.49 lakh, respectively. Both prices are ex-showroom (Delhi).

BMW has now stated that the deliveries of the two motorcycles will begin from next week. BMW Motorrad India already started accepting the bookings for the G 310 R and the G 310 GS from early-June 2018 for Rs 50,000. The two motorcycles have gathered more than 1,000 bookings, since then.

The BMW G 310 R is the most-affordable motorcycle from the German manufacturer, while the G 310 GS is the most-premium, adventure motorcycle in the country. Both the motorcycles were first showcased in India at the 2018 Auto Expo.

The two motorcycles, the BMW G 310 R and the G 310 GS are powered by 313cc, reverse-inclined, single-cylinder engine. It produces 34bhp and 28Nm of torque, while mated to a six-speed gearbox. This is the same engine powering the TVS Apache RR 310.

BMW claims a top speed of 145km/h and 143km/h on the G 310 R and the G 310 GS, respectively.

Both the BMW motorcycles come with 41mm USD front forks and a monoshock at the rear. However, the G 310 GS has a longer suspension travel of 180mm, compared to the G 310 R which has just 140mm.

Braking duty on the motorcycles is handled by 300 and 240mm single disc at the front and rear, respectively. Both motorcycles are also offered with dual-channel ABS as standard.

The BMW G 310 GS takes on competition from the likes of the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 and the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure. While the G 310 R rivals the likes of the KTM Duke 390, TVS Apache RR 310 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.

The BMW twins have been one of the most-awaited motorcycles to enter the Indian market. Although pricing of the two motorcycles is on the higher side, they are still the most-affordable offerings from the BMW stable.
