Bajaj Auto has started dispatching their new Pulsar NS160 with rear disc brakes. The new Bajaj Pulsar NS160 is priced at Rs 82,630, making the new variant, costlier by Rs 2,000. The single-disc variant of the Pulsar NS 160 is priced at Rs 80,500. All prices are ex-showroom (Pune).
Apart from the addition of the rear disc, the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 remains unchanged. The design carries forward the same aggressive and sporty design of its larger sibling, the Pulsar NS200.
The new Pulsar NS160 comes with the same headlights, instrument cluster,12-litre fuel tank, split seats and tail lights. However, with the addition of the rear disc setup, we can expect a slight increase in the overall kerb weight of the motorcycle, by around 1 to 2kg.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 continues to be powered by the 160.3cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It produces 15.5bhp and 14.6Nm of torque, mated to a standard five-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle uses a steel perimeter frame, along with a box-section swingarm. The NS160 rides on 17-inch wheels, at both the front and rear. The suspension on the motorcycle is handled by conventional telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear. Braking on the motorcycle is through a 240mm disc at the front, along with a new 230mm at the rear.
The new Bajaj Pulsar NS160 with the rear disc has already been spotted at dealerships. A spy video, showcasing the new NS160 with the rear disc has surfaced online. The spy video also showed a new rim on the NS160, similar to the one seen on the regular Pulsar 150. However, the new motorcycle available to customers does not come with these rims.
Thoughts On The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 With Rear Disc
The new Bajaj Pulsar NS160 with the rear disc is now priced on par with its competition. The NS160 takes on rivals such as the Suzuki Gixxer, Apache RTR 160 4V and the Honda CB Hornet 160R, all of which offer the option of a rear disc.
