Bajaj Dominar 400 Price Hike — Fourth Price Hike Since March 2018
Bajaj Auto has again hiked prices of their Dominar 400 in India. The Bajaj Dominar 400 now comes with a hike of Rs 1,000 bringing the total cost to Rs 1.63 lakh, ex-showroom (Delhi). This is the fourth price hike for the Dominar this year alone.
Bajaj introduced the Dominar 400 in both the ABS and non-ABS versions. However, with low sales of the non-ABS version, Bajaj decided to completely stop sales of the non-ABS version and concentrate sales towards the ABS variant.
The price hike for the Bajaj Dominar 400 is the fourth in 2018. The motorcycle received a hike of Rs 2000 back in July 2018 and similar price increases in May and March as well.
The prices for the bike has already gone up from Rs 1.53 lakh in March 2018 to Rs 1.63 lakh currently. All prices are ex-showroom (Delhi). This translates to a total hike of Rs 7,000 in India.
Bajaj introduced the updated 2018 model in January this year. The updated Dominar 400 came with a number of new upgrades, including new colour schemes and gold alloy wheels which are now standard.
The engine, however, remains unchanged. The Bajaj Dominar 400 comes powered by a 373cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. It produces 34.5bhp and 35Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch coming as standard.
The suspension on the Dominar 400 is through telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both the front and rear, supported by dual-channel ABS.
Bajaj is also said to be working on a new Dominar 400. The new model is said to come with revised styling and a host of other upgrades. Some of the upgrades on the new Dominar include upside-down forks, muscular tyre hugger, slightly large radiator grille and a large belly pan. The front brakes on the new model will also be repositioned on the left-side of the motorcycle.
Thoughts On The Price Hike For The Bajaj Dominar 400
The Bajaj Dominar 400 has been a successful motorcycle for the Indian manufacturer. The engine and certain components have been borrowed from its cousin, the KTM Duke 390. In India, the Bajaj Dominar rivals the likes of the Royal Enfield 350, Duke 390 and the TVS Apache RR310.
