Ather 340 & 450 Electric Scooters Launched In India; Prices Start At Rs 1.09 Lakh
Ather Energy has launched two new electric scooters, the 340 and the 450. Prices start at Rs 1.09 lakh, On-Road (Bangalore).
The Ather 340 and the 450 electric scooters have been launched in India. The two electric scooters, the Ather 340 and 450 are priced at Rs 1.09 lakh and Rs 1.24 lakh, respectively. Both prices are all-inclusive On-Road prices.
Both electric scooters visually look similar, but the 450 can be differentiated through the green sticker on the wheels.
The smart electric scooters from Ather will initially be available only in Bangalore, with expansion to other cities taking place by the year-end.
The two scooters use a Brushless DC Motor (BLDC) and a Battery Management System developed by Ather Energy. The batteries come with a 3-year/unlimited kilometres warranty.
The motors on both variants, the 340 and the 450 produce 20Nm and 20.5Nm of torque, respectively.
The Ather 340 has a maximum range of 60km. With a top speed of 70km/h and a 0 - 40km/h time of 5.1 seconds.
The Ather 450 on the other hand, has a range of 75km. While having a claimed top speed of 80km/h and a 0 - 40km/h time of 3.9 seconds.
The electric scooters come with an inbuilt reverse assist feature. This allows the rider, to use the motor to pull the scooter backwards, However, the speed will be limited to 5km/h while in reverse.
Ather also announced its air update facility. This allows the company to send an update to the scooter's software and firmware directly.
Other standard features on both the electric scooters, the 340 and the 450 include a seven-inch capacitive touchscreen instrumentcluster, navigation assist, smartphone connectivity and parking assist. The scooters also provide a vehicle charging point tracker.
Customers buying the electric scooters will also get the charging stations installed at their residence. These charging stations will be installed even before the delivery of the vehicle.
Ather Energy has already set up 30 charging station in different locations of Bangalore. The 'AtherGrid' charging station will also offer fast-charging facilities. The fast-charging feature provides a 50km range in a single hour of charge.
Thoughts On The Ather 340 and 450 Electric Scooters
Ather Energy has finally launched their electric scooters in India. In a surprise move, the company has launched two variants of its smart electric scooter, the 340 and the more powerful 450. Both these scooters will initially be available only in Bangalore.
The Ather Electric scooters take on rivals such as the TwentyTwo Motors Flow and The Okinawa Praise in India.
