Anand Mahindra has tweeted about the ‘imminent resurrection' of the Jawa Motorcycles in the Indian market. Although the image used for the tweet is of a 2002 Yamaha YZF-R1. But with the latest tweet, Mahindra has reminded the Jawa fans that the bikes will be introduced in India in the near future.
Previously in November 2017, Mahindra had confirmed that the first Jawa bike will be launched in the Indian market before March 2019. Under the Jawa brand, Mahindra will focus on premium segment. The bikes will be retailed through exclusive Jawa dealership network in the country.
An earlier report revealed that the upcoming Jawa bikes will make use of Mojo's 300cc engine platform. The first Jawa bike is expected to displace around 300cc and will draw power from the same engine platform of the Mahindra Mojo. But the engine will be tuned differently to suit the characteristics of the Jawa bike. Although, Mahindra is yet to confirm this development.
Recently in May 2018, the Czech manufacturer revealed the Jawa 350 Special cafe racer for the European markets. The 350 Special was unveiled to commemorate the rich racing heritage of Jawa Motorcycles. The Jawa 350 Special is a special edition bike with several unique design elements which give the motorcycle a distinct look.
The Jawa 350 Special draws power from a 397cc parallel-twin engine producing 27.6bhp and 30.6Nm of torque. The engine is manufactured by a Chinese company, Shinray with the fuel injection system from Delphi. The Jawa 350 OHC also utilises the same engine.

Jawa Motorcycles has a cult following in the Indian market and the fans are eagerly waiting for the bikes to hit the Indian shores. The latest tweet from Anand Mahindra gives a hint that the Jawa bikes will come to the Indian market very soon. We expect Mahindra to launch the Jawa bikes in the country in 2019.
