Spy Pics: Norton Commando And Dominator Spotted In India
Norton Motorcycles is all set to introduce the Commando and Dominator in the Indian market.
We have already reported that British firm Norton Motorcycles have partnered with Kinetic Group to enter the Indian market.
Now, the Norton Commando and Dominator have landed in India and TeamBHP has spotted the motorcycles at the Kinetic warehouse in Pune.
Both the Norton Commando and Dominator sports retro design. Initially, the motorcycles will be brought to India via CBU (Completely Built Unit) route from the United Kingdom. Later in 2019, Kinetic will commence local-assembly from the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) kits at the Ahmednagar facility.
Norton Motorcycles will debut the Commando and Dominator at the 2018 Auto Expo in February. Both the motorcycles will draw power from a 961cc air/oil cooled, fuel-injected, parallel-twin engine producing 80bhp and 90Nm of torque.

The engine will be coupled to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycles feature twin-discs at the front and a single disc at the rear. But both the Commando and Dominator miss out on ABS. The motorcycles are shod with spoke wheels which adds to the retro styling.
The Commando will be offered in two variants - street and cafe racer, whereas the Dominator will be available as a cafe racer as standard. The Dominator also features a lot of carbon fibre design elements and slightly different styling as compared to the Commando.
The Norton Dominator is equipped with upside down forks at the front and monoshock suspension setup at the rear. On the other hand, the Commando gets telescopic fork at the front and gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear.
DriveSpark Thinks!
Both the Norton Commando and Dominator sports a right mix of retro styling and modern technology. The Norton twins will rival the likes of Triumph Street Twin range and Moto Guzzis. Being a CBU unit the Noroton bikes will be expensive than the Triumphs but affordable than the Moto Guzzis.
