MV Agusta Reveals Updates For The 2018 Models
Italian superbike manufacturer MV Agusta has announced the updates to its 2018 model lineup.
Italian superbike manufacturer MV Agusta has announced the updates to its 2018 model lineup with a few changes made to the engine to meet the Euro 4 emission norms.
MV Agusta claims that the 2018 models will emit 50 percent fewer exhaust gases and 48 percent less noise compared to the Euro 3 compliant models.
MV Agusta has also stated that despite the changes made to the engine to reduce the emission levels, the performance and the character of the motorcycles remain the same.
The MV Agusta models which receive the latest updates include the F3 675, F3 800 and Dragster 800 RR. Out of which only the F3 800 and F3 800 RC are available in the Indian market.

The Italian motorcycle maker had already updated the Brutale 800 in 2016 to meet the Euro 4 emission norms by using a less powerful version of the three-cylinder engines. But now, the company has managed to meet the regulations without the reduction in performance.
The updated MV Agusta F3 800 now produces 144bhp, a three percent reduction in power as compared to the 148bhp from the 798cc inline three-cylinder engine. The F3 675 and Dragster 800 produces the same power output of 128bhp and 140bhp respectively.
The updated F3 engine features new balance shaft, camshafts, bigger intake valve, intake valve springs and valve guides. The thicker engine cover is said to reduce the overall noise emission. The 2018 models also get new gear shift, revised clutch, new exhaust manifold and bigger silencer.
MV Agusta has also updated the MVICS (Motor and Vehicle Integrated Control System) to improve ride-by-wire throttle response. The Dragster 800 also features the same updates in addition to the new exhaust valve.
