BMW K 1600 B Launched In India For Rs 29 Lakh At IBW 2017
BMW K 1600 B launched in India at India Bike Week.
BMW Motorrad India has expanded its product portfolio in the country with the launch of the two new motorcycles at the India Bike Week 2017. The company has launched the R nine T Racer and K 1600 B Bagger.
The new BMW K 1600 B Bagger is priced at Rs 29 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). The motorcycle shares its underpinnings with the K 1600 GT.
BMW Motorrad has already launched the new K 1600 B in several global markets in 2016. The new Bagger is based on the Concept 101 bagger, and it is one of the best full-fledged touring motorcycles in the market.
The new K 1600 B features an all-new tail section which sits lower, and the seat height has been reduced which will suit even shorter rider especially in India. The overall design is relaxed, and the windscreen is shorter which is electrically adjustable.

Compared to the K 1600 GT, the bagger gets a redesigned fairing to suit its touring characteristics with the new side section with wind deflectors which is now moved back. The panniers have been tweaked to offer a storage space of 37 litres.
The new K 1600 B draws power from a 1,649cc inline six-cylinder engine producing 160bhp and 175Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The touring motorcycle comes with electronically controlled Dynamic ESA chassis which includes Road and Cruise riding modes.
The K 1600 B features a 5.7-inch full-colour TFT instrument console with satellite radio and Bluetooth connectivity. Apart from that the motorcycle also comes with features such as ABS Pro, dynamic brake light, Dynamic Traction Control, riding modes, cruise control, xenon headlamp, heated grips, seat heating and multi-controller.

The BMW K 1600 B comes equipped with Duolever and Paralever suspension unit. Braking duties are handled by 320mm dual-floating discs with four-piston calipers at the front and 320mm disc at the rear. The motorcycle will be brought to India via CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. The deliveries of the motorcycle will commence in the coming weeks.
