Hero Electric Launches Its Complete Range Of Electric Scooters
Hero Electric has launched its complete range of electric scooters today in Kolkata. The country's largest two-wheeler manufacturer is aiming to put nearly three million two-wheelers in the country by 2020.
The customers will have a choice of lead or lithium batteries while purchasing the scooters. Hero Electric said that lithium battery technology will not only provide five years of apetrol-free ride, but customers will be able to charge the scooter at home besides 30 minutes of top-up charging.
CEO, Global business, Sohinder Gill said that with an average range of travel of 65kms on afull charge which could last up to four to five hours, the Optima Lithium Delux Scooter can travel at a top speed of 25km/h.
Hero Electric has tied up with Paytm and will be offering an extra discount of Rs 10,000 in addition to the government subsidies. This will be for selected customers on the Optima Delux Scooter. The Optima booking will begin from September 25, 2016, on Paytm.
As for the Nyx Lithium, the scooter will be available in West Bengal for Rs 45,790 from October 2016 onwards. Previously, Hero Electric launched its Optima and Photon scooters back in 2014 in providing a zero emission solution to urban mobility.
The company is also in talks with various agencies and state governments to install charging stations at various locations to improve the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in India.
