Norton V4 Superbike Breaks Cover Ahead Of Public Debut
The V4 will come in two models — the V4 SS and V4 RR, both powered by Norton's new 1200cc.
Norton has unveiled its V4 superbike ahead of its public debut this weekend.
The V4 will come in two models - the V4 SS and V4 RR, both powered by Norton's new 1200cc, V4 engine capable of producing a 200Bhp power output.
Designed and manufactured in Derby, England, the V4 is hand-built with aluminum frames, inspired by the Norton SG5 TT race bike.
The bodywork on the V4 is full carbon-fiber, and it will be available in either carbon or chrome finish.
Both the V4 SS and V4 RR will come equipped with advanced electronic aids such as a six-axis inertial measurement unit, traction control, anti-wheelie system, launch control, adjustable engine braking, riding modes, cruise control, as well as up/down quick shifter.
The top variant V4 SS will get carbon-fiber wheels along with an Ohlins NIX30 fork up front and TTXGP shock at the rear.
Brakes on the motorcycle are a full Brembo system consisting of two 330 mm discs up front, and a 245 mm disc at the back.
The 18-litre fuel tank is carbon-fiber as well, thanks to tech developed for MotoGP. It is reinforced with a layer of Kevlar and it comes with an internal chemical coating to meet fuel resistance regulations.
The V4's underside also acts as the upper part of the airbox weight reduction.
In full carbon-fiber attire, the V4 SS weighs 179 kg dry and gets around 8 kg lighter and gains 10Bhp by opting the full titanium racing exhaust.
The price tag on the Norton SS is a mind-blowing £44,000 ( Rs. 37 Lakhs), but you won't have to worry about the price since all of the 200 units of the bike are already sold out.
