Yamaha M-Slaz (MT-15) Launching In Thailand On December 1

By Ajinkya

Yamaha has christened its MT-15 naked streetfighter as the M-Slaz for Southeast Asian markets. The M-Slaz will be launching on December 1, 2015, at the Thailand Motor Show. We have a few images of the soon to be revealed Yamaha M-Slaz, which will be offered in Indian markets as well.

From the image, we notice Yamaha has provided the M-Slaz with an aggressive styling. The headlight, fuel tank, and seat receive sharp and aggressive design, that is typical of a naked streetfighter motorcycle. Other noticeable change is the inclusion of upside-down front forks, which enhances the styling of the motorcycle.

The M-Slaz will continue to share components with Yamaha's YZF-R15 model. Both bikes will share the swingarm, rear mono-shock, alloy-wheels, deltabox frame, disc brakes, and engine.

Powering the M-Slaz will be the standard engine that does duty in the YZF-R15. The engine is a single-cylinder 149cc, liquid-cooled that will be tuned to produce more power than the fully-faired motorcycle. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Yamaha will provide an all-new instrument console on the M-Slaz model. The instrument console is fully digital and will provide the rider with tons of information like speed, rpm, distance, time, fuel indicator, and much more.

In Thailand, Yamaha is most likely to price the M-Slaz between 80,000 Baht to 90,000 Baht, which roughly translates to Rs 1.58 lakh in the Indian market. At this moment, there is no confirmation when Yamaha would offer the MT-15 or M-Slaz in India.
