Honda CB Hornet 160R India Launch On December 10
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India will be launching the CB Hornet 160R on December 10, 2015. The CB Hornet 160R will be Honda's 15th product to launch in the country during 2015. Bookings for the motorcycle has commenced at several authorised dealerships.
Delivery of the Honda CB Hornet will commence soon post after its launch on December 10, 2015. Showrooms are accepting a token amount of Rs. 5,000 for booking the motorcycle. Honda will most likely be replacing the CB Trigger motorcycle in the country.
Powering the Honda CB Hornet 160R is a 162.71cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The engine will produce 14.5bhp along with 14.6Nm and a 5-speed gearbox. Honda will be providing the standard engine that is used in their CB Unicorn motorcycle.
The design of the new Honda CB Hornet 160R is derived from the CX-01 concept, which was earlier showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. The fuel tank is sculpted for an edgy look with a rubber protection running down the middle. Taillight gets an X-shape with LED lights. Honda also equips the motorcycle with an all digital instrument console.
In terms of safety, Honda will be providing its CB Hornet 160R with disc brakes for the front and rear. Honda will also offer their Combined Braking System (CBS), which facilitates braking even in tricky conditions.
The Honda CB Hornet 160R will face tough competition in the Rs. 80,000 to Rs. 90,000 price range. The CB Hornet 160R will compete against the likes of Yamaha FZ-S, Suzuki Gixxer, TVS Apache 160, and Honda Xtreme Sports.
