Cricketer Shreyas Iyer Adds Mercedes-AMG G63 To His Car Collection
KKR captain and Indian cricket player Shreyas Iyer has added a new Mercedes-AMG G63 to his car collection. The Indian cricket player also has a Huracan Evo and an Audi S5 in his fleet of cars.
The Mercedes-AMG G63 has become the SUV to have for the rich and the famous around the world and in India. The latest high-profile person to add the new Mercedes-AMG G63 SUV to his collection is Indian cricket player and KKR captain Shreyas Iyer.
Shreyas Iyer joined KKR after this year's IPL auction after KKR shelled out 12.25 crores to bring him to their team. Iyer was appointed the captain of the IPL franchise and while his team didn't really perform well, he did live up to his billing. Now with the IPL over, Iyer has added the Mercedes-AMG G63 SUV into his car collection, which costs a cool Rs 2.55 crore, ex-showroom.
The Mercedes-AMG G63 is a go-faster version of the Mercedes G-Wagen (Gelandewagen) SUV which has been tuned and fettled by the speed demons at Merc's in-house tuning division AMG. The G63 is powered by Mercedes-AMG's 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 577bhp at 6,000rpm and 850Nm of peak torque between 2,500 and 3,500rpm.
This allows the Mercedes G63, an SUV that weighs over 2.35 tonnes to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The Mercedes-AMG G63 performance SUV has a top speed of 240km/h. Mercedes is currently working on all-electric version of the G-Class called the EQG, which was revealed in concept guise last year.
Now enough about the Mercedes-AMG G63, what other exotic cars does Shreyas Iyer have in his collection. Well, the cricketer has been spotted riding around in two other exotic cars in the past - an Audi S5 and a Lamborghini Huracan.
Let's first concentrate on the Lamborghini. The supercar that Shreyas Iyer has been behind the wheel of appears to be a Lamborghini Huracan Evo in a rather bright shade of Red. The Lamborghini Huracan Evo was unveiled in 2019 as a mid-cycle refresh for the Sant'Agata Bolognese-based Italian manufacturer's V10 powered supercar.
The Huracan Evo shares its V10 engine with the Performante version of the Huracan. In the Lamborghini Huracan Evo, the 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 pushes out 631bhp at 8,000rpm and 601Nm of peak torque at 6,500rpm which is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
This allows the Huracan EVO to sprint from 0-100km/h in just 2.9 seconds and continue onwards to a top speed of over 325km/h.
The other car that Shreyas Iyer has been seen driving around in is an Audi S5. The Audi S5 that Iyer drives appears to be a pre-facelift version which draws power from a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 engine that produces 349bhp between 5,400 and 6,400rpm and 500Nm of peak torque between 1,370 and 4,500rpm which is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Iyer has been known to tweak the look of his Audi S5 with the help of wraps. Iyer has previously wrapped his Audi S5 in both a rather subtle Nardo Grey and a headache-inducing Copper Gold.
Thoughts On Shreyas Iyer's Car Collection
Shreyas Iyer, like quite a few other cricketers, seems to be a car enthusiast and his latest acquisition, the Mercedes-AMG G63 adds another level of performance to his garage.
