Sacrilegious Rolls-Royce Phantom Sports 900hp Twin-Charged 2JZ Engine

A Rolls-Royce Phantom owner in Japan has replaced the 6.75-litre twin-charged 2JZ making the usually silent Roller a loudmouth with an attitude.

A Rolls-Royce Phantom is expected remain as silent as it takes its owners around in absolute luxury amongst the mere mortals also present on the road.

However, when the daily driver 6.75-litre of the Phantom decided to give up the Ghost and the wait for a replacement proved to be too long to take, the Roller's Tokyo-based owner decided to go with a Japanese legend, the 2JZ from a Toyota Supra.

To help the inline six cylinder engine deal with the Roller's weight, the 2JZ was comprehensively modified with HKS forged internals along with a GReddy T78 turbo and a HKS supercharger which ensures that this mad roller has 900hp. To ensure the engine and the rest of the car handles the extra power better, the gearbox has been strengthened (it has to handle double the power) while the air suspension has been replaced with Ohlins units.

DriveSpark Thinks!

The fact that this madcap Roller is something born out of necessity and is not a tuner's dark fantasy makes this Phantom one of the coolest daily driver's (or is that daily chauffeured) around. Also, you wouldn't want to meet this twin-charged Roller sleeper and challenge it to a race, seeing how crazy fast it seemed to be going in the second video.
