Queen's Daimler Limousine Auction Heads To Lillicrap
You can't be Royal, if not born to one. But there is an alternative to head that way. Auction! Dig your pockets deeper for once and you'll find yourself driving away a Queen's Limo. Quite a way to get Royal. Ain't it? Ian Lillicrap dug his pocket deeper, costing him 40,500 pounds to drive a Royal Car.
This exquisite Royal Daimler Super V8 LWB Limousine is quite a ride, encrusted with royalty and class. Remaining in the Royal ownership from 2001 and 2004, this beauty finally landed at the Auction House Brooklands Museum in Surrey. The Limo was complete with it's original documentation and photographs of the Queen driving it.
The cars interiors were splendid, featuring an armrest which holds a sliding holder custom designed for the Queen's handbag. The proud and cherished new owner, Ian Lillicrap said "a little bit of history" and adding, "blown away by the fantastic condition it is in". The ashtray inside the Limo was designed to light the security lighting controls, ncluding blue flashing strobes, flashing headlamps and flashing rear lights.
The car before heading the Queen's way, was tested over 2,500 miles and 11,000 miles while in use by the Queen. A few suggestions were made by the Auctioneer, Fabian Hine " He is a collector of this type of vehicle. He also recently bought an Audi convertible which was used many years ago by Princess Diana." and adding, "I think it will increase in value as the years go by, particularly if he doesn't do any more mileage."
Now you got yourself a new trick in your book. Want to be Royal? Buy a Queen's Limo. Remember you're 40,000 pounds away from attaining Royalty.
