Pune Man Comes Up With ‘Unique’ Solution To Beat The Heat Inside Car - Cow Dung Wrap
Climate change is a very serious topic and some people are fighting climate change while others are adapting to climate change. However, people are changing their ways for climate change.
While summers are getting hotter, people are coming up with new ways to cool down in addition to using air conditioning to the max.
While air conditioning will further increase the greenhouse gases, a person in Pune has come up with a unique solution to beat the heat. Moreover, the average temperature in the city has indeed gone up over the years and the effects of global warming are clearly felt.
Coming back to this unique solution, this Pune person has covered his car entirely with cow dung to reduce the heat inside the car. While this is not new, this is the first time such a car has been seen in Pune.
While this may seem funny to many, this unique solution may work as the cow dung insulates the body panel from the direct heat of the sun. However, we are not sure to what extent this work as it is not been scientifically tested yet.
Traditionally, cow dung had been applied to the walls and floors of mud houses as the cow dung added an additional layer of thermal protection. The cow dung also helped achieve a smoother finish that made cleaning a bit easier.
In earlier days, people also used to sprinkle water on cow dung floors during peak summer seasons to reduce the heat inside the home.
However, we are not sure to what extent this will work on cars and how safe it will be to apply it on cars as dried cow dung is flammable. The latter is very dangerous as it can seriously injure and sometimes be fatal to passengers or people around it.
Moreover, we are not even sure whether the applied cow dung can have long-term effects on the paint surface of the car.
Overall, we do appreciate people coming up with creative ideas and unique solutions to solve problems around us. However, we also request people understand the basics and test thoroughly before applying the idea on a large scale.
Last year, a Tata Nexon EV was spotted with a large windmill on the roof, while the basic idea was great, the user failed to factor in the aerodynamic principles. As a result, the Tata Nexon EV might be consuming more power due to the drag generated by the windmill than the windmill's ability to produce electricity.
Thoughts About Pune's Cow Dung Car
This is not the first time a car covered in cow dung has hit the Indian roads, and though the solution has been used traditionally at homes, we are not sure how clever this solution is considering the dried cow dung's ability to catch fire.
