Ken Block Drifting A Modified Ford Raptor At Moab Is The Coolest Thing You'll See Today
American drift specialist and rally driver Ken Block is up to his old tricks again. However, this time there is no Gymkhana video, instead, Block takes over Moab, Utah in America's best selling pickup the Ford F-150.
Ken Block had revealed his F-150 Raptor to the world earlier this year, but this is the first time he's shown us how much the modified pickup truck can be hooned. You may have noticed that we mentioned that the Chief Hoonigan's pickup truck has been modified. Well to tacke the tough terrain around Moab, which is best known becoming the off-roading playground for SUV lovers during Easter week, needs more than just extra power and better shocks to be tamed.
Block turned to the same off-roading specialists that did up his tank track version of the F-150, which he dubbed RaptorTrax. The California-based off-roading specialists SVC Offroad, took Kenny from the Block's truck and turned it into an offroading beast.
SVC added a whole load of kit to Block's F-150 Raptor including a Mojave front bumper fitted with a skid plate, a Baja rear bumper along with a Bypass bed rack with storage for the spare wheels for the 17-inch Fifteen52 Turbomac HDs that are clad with 37-inch Open Country Toyo Tyres. Other changes include fibreglass front fenders, a Mid Travel Kit with Fox 3.5 bypass shock absorbers up front and Fox five-tube bypass shocks at the back, along with thier own custom traction bars and leaf springs from Deaver suspension.
The F-150 Raptor's 3.5-litre twin-turbo Ecoboost engine has been tweaked as well with an intercooler and intake from SVC along with a SPD turbo adapters and a stainless steel exhaust system. The engine has been tuned as well and now cranks out 550bhp and 813Nm of torque. With that much power, the F-150 Raptor SVc feature all-wheel-drive, though from the video, it is quite obvious that Block prefers to use the 2WD mode and let the rear wheels move about for the perfect powerslide.
