Drone Delivery In India — Zypp Electric To Start Drone Delivery In Five Indian Cities
Drones to be used for delivery in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Delhi-NCR. Zypp Electric is all set to start deliveries using drones in some of the largest Indian cities, making it one of the early adopters of drone deliveries. The company has partnered with TSAW Drones to deploy 200 drones across five cities.
Drone delivery is a concept that has been around for a few years now. Some countries in the western world have already started using drones for deliveries while some other countries are still experimenting with it.
Though drone delivery is still in its nascent stages, it is widely considered the best way to deliver small packages, medicines, and groceries to some locations that can be hard to access via road. For example, a location on top of a hill that requires going through lots of twisties could take a small scooter a long time whereas a drone could make the climb in just a few minutes.
The advantages of drone-based delivery is apparent, and Zypp Electric is taking the project forward in the Indian market. Zypp Electric is a last-mile delivery firm that currently uses electric scooters as its primary mode of transport to deliver packages. Now, the brand will start using drones to deliver packages.
The drones will not replace the electric scooters but will in fact be an extension that will help delivery executives send the packages to the destination in a quicker manner. In the aforementioned cities, drones can simply fly over traffic congestion and save a lot of time and thereby add to the value-for-money proposition.
Akash Gupta, Co-Founder and CEO of Zypp Electric was quoted as saying, "The best part is that drones are flying EV vehicles and they will add as an extension to our ground fleet of e-scooters to deliver medical, food, grocery parcels in long distances at 1/10th the time needed."
As aforementioned, Zypp Electric has partnered with TSAW Drones for the operations. TSAW is a firm that specializes in using drones for logistics. The company will also provide a Smart Ground Control Station, Unmanned Air Traffic Management, and an AI-Assisted smart fleet.

Delivering packages with drones might soon become easier and more convenient. How safe will it be with many drones flying around is something that is to be seen. Be prepared to see quite a few drones in the air carrying small packages.
