CNG Price Hiked Again: Rs 2 Increased Per Kg
Rising fuel prices have forced many automobile users to convert their vehicles to CNG-compatible vehicles. Apart from that, many automakers have also launched CNG variants of their existing products after witnessing this increased demand for CNG vehicles in the Indian automobile industry.
In addition to the fuel efficiency and lower fuel cost, CNG fuels are far more eco-friendly than fossil fuels such as Petrol and Diesel.
With so many advantages, it is safe to assume that the government will support the promotion of CNG vehicles through various schemes. However, despite a great deal of support from the government, it seems that the government is struggling to keep the prices of the CNG fuel in control.
The government's struggle to keep the CNG fuel prices under control becomes somewhat clear as this is the 12th price hike in CNG fuel since the 2nd week of March 2022. During this period, the price of the CNG has increased by more than Rs 17.
The latest price hike increases the price of CNG by Rs 2 in the national capital. As a result, a kilogram of CNG fuel in Delhi now cost Rs 73.61. However, despite the increase in CNG fuel, the price of CNG fuel is far more affordable than petrol and diesel.
Speaking about CNG fuel, Kia will soon launch the CNG variant of the Kia Carens MPV in India. Apart from that, the upcoming Kia Carens 'CNG' will be the country's first turbocharged CNG vehicle.
Under the skin, the upcoming CNG version of the Kia Carens uses the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine instead of the 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine.
In the standard variant of Kia Carens, this engine produces 138bhp of peak power and 242Nm of peak torque. However, unlike the standard variant, the CNG version of the Kia Carens will come exclusively mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
The Kia Carens MPV is also one of the most feature-rich MPVs in India with the inclusion of features such as Kia's UVO connected car tech, wireless charger, full-digital driver's display, a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple Car Play and Android Auto,
ambient lighting, 8-speaker BOSE sound system, cooled cup holders, air purifier, cooled glove box, an electric sunroof, ventilated seats at the front, roof-mounted AC for 2nd and 3rd-row passengers and lot more.
Despite its aggressive price tag, the Kia Carens MPV comes equipped with top-notch safety features such as 6-airbags, ABS, EBD, vehicle stability control (VSC), BAS, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), electronic stability program (ESP), ISOFIX Mounts, hill-hold assistance, All-Wheel Disc Brakes and a few more.
At present, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is the only 7-seater in India to come with a factory-fitted CNG kit. With the launch of the CNG version of the Kia Carens, Kia Motors aims to expand its market share by attracting more customers with the CNG version of the Kia Carens MPV.
Thoughts About CNG Cars In India
CNG vehicles are generally far more economical to run than petrol or diesel vehicles. Apart from that, despite the recent price hike, CNG fuel is still a lot more affordable. However, the government must have better control of fuel prices for the collective good of the public.
